Membership Information

Membership Information

The Northwestern Connecticut Dog Club is open to anyone living in Litchfield County or a nearby town with an interest in Purebred dogs. This will include people actively participating in organized events with their dogs as well as absolute beginners who would like to get involved in the sport. The NCDC is an American Kennel Club affiliate, so anyone who has been sanctioned by the AKC for an infraction is not eligible for membership. Individuals interested in membership in the NCDC are encouraged to download the membership form on this website, complete it, and bring it to one of our meetings, the second Wednesday of the month or as posted on the website.

The procedures for membership are straightforward:

The membership application, once completed, will need the signatures of two sponsors who are current members, in good standing, of the NCDC. (These can usually be obtained at a meeting if the applicant doesn't know any current members.

The application can be submitted with one year's membership fee at a meeting or mailed to the membership committee. After the applicant has attended two regular Club meetings his or her name will be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. If the membership application is submitted after September first, the dues paid in the application fee will be counted toward the next year as well.

Expectations of members are regular attendance at meetings and assistance at club sponsored activities, principally the Conformation and Obedience Show in Goshen in September. New members are eligible for committees and election to the Board of Directors or Office positions. Questions concerning membership can be directed to the Chair of the membership committee or the President of the Club.

If you are interested in becoming a member of NCDC you can download an application form in Adobe Acrobat PDF format here MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION

If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader you can get it here.http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Print out this form and bring it to one of our meetings.
